Cardinal Burke told WSJ.com (November 29) that he had not been informed of Francis’ intention to strip him in his old age of his apartment and salary.
“People can draw their own conclusions about why Francis told this to Austen Ivereigh and not the person concerned”, he said.
Burke intends to remain in Rome even if he is forced to find another place to live, “It’s my duty as a cardinal to remain in Rome.”
