Ohio gov. announces $5 million lottery, full scholarships to encourage taking COVID vaccine
The money will come from existing federal Coronavirus Relief Funds.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 13, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Ohio’s Republican Gov. Mike DeWine unveiled Wednesday an unusual incentive to encourage more residents to take one of the experimental COVID-19 vaccines: entering recipients in weekly drawings for one million dollars.

As of May 13, almost 4.3 million Ohioans have been fully vaccinated, which is approximately 36% of the state’s population. Policymakers across the country have expressed frustration at a lack of interest in getting vaccinated by many Americans beyond the initial rush.

DeWine’s solution is to enter adults who have at least obtained the first injection of a coronavirus vaccine into a lottery for one of five drawings of one million dollars apiece, announced every Wednesday for five weeks starting May 26.

“The Ohio Department of Health will be the sponsoring agency for the drawings, and the Ohio Lottery will conduct them,” the governor said. “The money will come from existing federal Coronavirus Relief Funds.”

“I know that some may say, ‘DeWine, you’re crazy! This million-dollar drawing idea of yours is a waste of money,’” he continued. “But truly, the real waste at this point in the pandemic – when the vaccine is readily available to anyone who wants it – is a life lost to COVID-19.”

He also announced that minors between the ages of 12 and 17 will also be incentivized to take the injections with five drawings for a “full, four-year scholarship to our state universities.”

Some took issue with the propriety of using taxpayer dollars to effectively entice people to take a new vaccine around which significant controversy remains. “Fear mongering, much?” asks Townhall’s Rebecca Downs. “It's worth nothing that the Pfizer vaccine was just approved for those 12-15 years old mere days ago.”

More than 117 million Americans have received coronavirus vaccines so far, but hesitancy persists among much of the population. A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll found, for instance, that 73% of Americans say they are unwilling to take the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, use of which was temporarily paused due to concerns about blood clots.

The currently available vaccines have been given “Emergency Use Authorization” (EUA). According to the FDA, an EUA is “a mechanism to facilitate the availability and use of medical countermeasures, including vaccines, during public health emergencies, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic.”

The FDA acknowledges that EUAs permit the use of “unapproved medical products, or unapproved uses of approved medical products” in situations where “there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives.”

While many officeholders and media figures blame online “misinformation” for lingering vaccine hesitancy, considerably less contemplation has been spent on how the government’s own actions contribute to mistrust, from public health officials’ contradictory guidances on every major aspect of the pandemic, to mixed messaging about vaccinated people still potentially transmitting the virus to others. On Thursday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) finally announced that vaccinated Americans can eschew masks and social distancing, both indoors and outdoors.

Clinical trials for the currently-authorized COVID-19 vaccines were performed in less than a year, when such trials traditionally take a minimum of two to four years. One of the innovations of the Trump administration’s “Operation Warp Speed” was conducting various aspects of the development process concurrently rather than sequentially, but that does not fully account for the condensing of clinical trial phases — each of which can take anywhere from 1-3 years on its own — to just three months apiece.

Skeptics argue that leaders’ widespread preference for pressuring Americans into compliance and shutting down debate on the subject evidences a lack of interest in earning Americans’ confidence by getting to the bottom of deaths possibly related to the coronavirus vaccines. The need for financial incentives such as the Ohio lottery to get people to do something ostensibly for their own good indicates a failure among public officials to alleviate holdouts’ concerns.

Kripsy Kreme has offered Americans who show their CDC-issued vaccine cards one free donut every day for the rest of 2021. Other incentives for vaccinated customers from various businesses have included marijuana, cheesecake, and arcade tokens.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio mocked for promising free fries for getting Covid-19 vaccines, awkwardly eating burger at presser (VIDEO)

RT.com [adapted] | 13 May, 2021

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio was lampooned after awkwardly chowing down on a burger during a press conference and promising free fries at Shake Shack for people vaccinated against Covid-19.

I want you to look at these french fries and think about how great it is to get vaccinated,” de Blasio said after munching on some himself in front of the cameras. He then chowed down on a burger for breakfast.

Mmmm… vaccination,” he said after his bite.

The cringeworthy bit was part of a campaign from fast food chain Shake Shack offering free fries over the next month to people who can prove they have received their Covid-19 vaccinations.

Shake Shack CEO Randy Garuitti also said those who get inoculated in New York City will receive a voucher for a free burger in addition to the fries.

The city has been trying to incentivize people to get vaccinations with the offer of gift cards and even tickets to Brooklyn Cyclone games.

The offers aren’t quite as grand as other incentives out there, however. Amazon announced on Thursday a plan to pay new hires a $100 bonus if they can prove they are vaccinated, and other large companies such as Target have offered to pay employees their hourly wages to get their shots or to get inoculated during work hours.

De Blasio isn’t the only politician coming up with ways to push for vaccinations. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine set up a lottery of sorts for those who get vaccinated that gives participants a chance to win a $1 million prize.

De Blasio’s promise of free fast food fries seemed small by comparison, according to many critics, and his bizarre and greasy press conference was even more perplexing.

“Is there nothing this man cannot ruin?” one user tweeted.

“Who among us has not wanted a Shake Shack burger at 10:30 AM?” another asked.

Phil Murphy Has to Be Joking with This Vax 'Incentive'

[Image: 94d54211-e729-4f32-bc5e-e6717e12d12d.jpg]

Townhall.com |  May 20, 2021

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is pulling out all the stops in an effort to reach his goal of having 4.7 million fully vaccinated residents by the end of June. On Wednesday, he announced new incentives, but one of them is unlikely to convince vaccine-hesitant individuals to come forward.

A free glass of wine may sound appealing to some, a State Parks Vax Pass to provide free access to New Jersey's 51 state parks might encourage others. But Murphy is throwing in one more perk—a chance to win a dinner with him and First Lady Tammy Murphy at one of the governor's residences in Princeton or Island Beach State Park.

Cuomo Using Scratch Tickets to Try and Bribe New Yorkers to Get the COVID Vaccine

GP | May 21, 2021

New York’s disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo is attempting to bribe New Yorkers to get the COVID-19 vaccine with lottery tickets.

The tickets provide a chance to win five million dollars.

“Today we announce a big new reason to get vaccinated: A chance to win up to $5 million! Get vaccinated at any of 10 state vax sites and receive a free NYS Lottery scratch off ticket with a grand prize of $5 million. Must be 18 or older,” Cuomo tweeted on Friday.

Today we announce a big new reason to get vaccinated: A chance to win up to $5 million!

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has also announced a “Vax-a-Million” program in which a random person will be drawn weekly from the Ohio secretary of state’s voter registration date base to get $1 million — if they are vaccinated. They will also be choosing 12-17 year old winners who will receive a possible full-ride scholarship to a state college or university if they are vaccinated.

Taxpayers are once again footing the bill for political bribes.

Thailand: Villagers Receiving Coronavirus Vaccination Entered into Raffle for Cow

A town in northern Thailand announced Thursday it will offer its residents the chance to win a live calf each week
over the next six months if they receive a Chinese coronavirus vaccination.

The government of Mae Chaem district in Thailand’s Chiang Mai province launched the campaign on May 20 to encourage its residents to register for Chinese coronavirus vaccinations. Once vaccinated, Mae Chaem residents will be eligible to enter a raffle for a chance to win a young cow worth about 10,000 baht ($319) starting June 7.

Mae Chaem district chief Boonlue Thamtharanurak told the Thai news site Coconuts Bangkok on Friday that 4,500 local residents registered for a coronavirus vaccine on Thursday alone following the giveaway announcement.

“Our vaccine registration numbers have gone from hundreds to thousands in a couple of days,” Thamtharanurak told Reuters on May 20.

“The villagers love cows. Cows can be sold for cash,” he added.

Mae Cham district is home to roughly 60,000 people. Thamtharanurak told Coconuts Bangkok that Mae Cham hopes to vaccinate about 2,000 residents per week through the new campaign.

“Other provinces in Thailand have also come up with creative incentives to boost registration, such as gold necklace giveaways, store discount coupons, or cash handouts,” Reuters reported Thursday.

The Thai federal government said it plans to inoculate 70 percent of the country’s population against the Chinese coronavirus by the end of 2021 but has struggled to make significant progress towards this goal due to widespread vaccine hesitancy among Thai people. Thailand’s government has administered just 2.3 million doses of coronavirus vaccines to date, the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) reported May 20, citing data compiled by the University of Oxford. This figure accounts for roughly two percent of Thailand’s population of nearly 70 million.

“People don’t trust the government and they don’t trust the vaccines the government has secured for them,” Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, a Thai opposition politician, told DW this week.

“Trust is earned. You cannot build it overnight so when the government says people should go and get themselves vaccinated, people tend to be hesitant because they are not sure of the side effects and the efficacy of the vaccine,” he said.

Thai health officials documented 9,635 new cases of the Chinese coronavirus on May 19, the highest daily figure since Thailand’s outbreak began, according to DW. The country reported 53 new deaths from the Chinese coronavirus on May 20, also a record high.

Thailand’s federal government says it plans to roll out a revamped inoculation campaign against the Chinese coronavirus next month when locally manufactured doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed by the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca become available.

JUSTICE JAB Offenders getting sentences CUT IN HALF if they get Covid vaccine under shock new policy

The Sun | May 21 2021

CERTAIN offenders could get their sentences cut in half if they agree to get the Covid vaccine in a shocking new policy.

Georgia's Hall and Dawson counties are offering this incentive in an effort to increase Covid vaccination rates among adults.

This incentive will be available to people doing community service as part of their sentence.

Hall County Court Administrator Jason Stephenson said that judges can offer up to 20 to 40 hours for those qualified to participate.

Stephenson spoke about the new project saying: "In our judge's view, every shot in the arm is a service to the community.

"For some offenders it does seem appropriate to recognize that the time and the cost involved and perhaps lining up childcare, taking time off from work, arranging for transportation, and making to a vaccination site – not once but twice. This recognizes the commitment they've made in doing that."

Court leaders are trying to avoid pressuring people into getting the vaccine, but rather making those that qualify aware of the benefits.

Andy Maddox, senior assistant public defender of Hall County, explained this as: "Somebody mentions 20 hours and that may not sound like a lot, but that half a work week and if somebody can get a shot instead of doing 20 hours of community service, that is a pretty strong incentive."

Georgia's current vaccination rate is 37 percent while the national average is 47 percent.

Maddox assessed the initial interest saying, "I think initially it's some curiosity. Some have already gotten it. Many are pondering it."

Other states are also offering incentives to increase vaccination averages.

In Maryland, starting on Tuesday, one resident in the state who has received the Covid vaccine will win $40,000 every day as part of a program launched by Governor Larry Hogan and the Maryland Lottery.

In New York, anyone who gets vaccinated will receive a $20 lottery ticket for the $5million Mega Multiplier Lottery as part of the "Vax & Scratch" program.

“Vax For The Win” – Governor Newsom Offers $116.5 Million Giveaway for Vaccinated Californians

GP | May 27, 2021

How is this even legal?

Embattled Governor Gavin Newsom bribed poor and lower middle class Californians in order to convince them to get the experimental Covid vaccine.

Newsom on Thursday offered $116.5 million giveaway for vaccinated Californians.

$15 million in cash prizes for 10 winners will be selected on June 5.

$50,000 for winners on June 4 and June 11.

People who already got the Covid jab are already entered into the ‘lottery.’

Newsom said the next 2 million people to get fully vaccinated can also get $50 grocery or prepaid cards.

“Vax for the win” Newsom said.

Cringe.

Gavin Newsom is likely facing a recall election in November after destroying the state of California with unconstitutional Covid lockdown orders.
