The written text of the sermon by Fr. Edward MacDonald read by Fr. Hewko in this sermon:
Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, July 12, 2026
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them [Matthew 7:16-20]. Vatican II is a big evil tree. The Second Vatican Council sprang from the Fiftyist soil. Fiftyism had opened to the world. Fiftyist Catholics were permitted, even encouraged, to be both Catholic and Worldly. Whereas true Catholicism considered the world to be an enemy. A strange place through which we travelled trying to remain uncontaminated from it. The world, the flesh and the devil are the enemies of the soul. Fiftyism said no, the world is not an enemy. Following on the heels of this the flesh also became not an enemy. And today the devil is not considered an enemy. Out of this Fiftyism the Tree that is the Second Vatican Council grew. It is an Evil Tree. It can produce nothing but evil fruit. The Conciliar Church is an evil fruit of this Tree. It cannot be good. The Conciliar Bishops, Priests, Religious, and laity are infected with the poison from this tree. They are not good. They are relatively evil. And they are contagious. This is why we must separate from them. Archbishop Lefebvre said it is a strict duty for any priest wanting to remain Catholic to separate himself from these Conciliarists [Spiritual Journey]. No one can work with them without being contaminated by them. St. Paul also teaches this: Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God saith: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore, Go out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing: And I will receive you; and I will be a Father to you; and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty [II Corinthians 6, 14-18]. We saw this at Vatican II. The bishops came home from the first session of the Council and people asked them what did you do? They replied, Nothing. The modernists running the Council knew that many bishops were still too Catholic. But they were contaminating them with their evening talks, parties and associations with the non-Catholic "observers." The second session they voted on and passed a couple of minor documents. The main issues were kept for the fourth session by which time most bishops were contaminated with the modernist contagion. That is when they passed the most pernicious documents. A Good Tree is the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Cross brings forth good fruit. But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity, mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's, have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit [Galatians 5, 22-25]. These good fruits come from a union with the Cross of Jesus Christ, the good tree. Bishop Fellay is a false prophet of whom we must beware. He is in sheep's clothing but inwardly a ravening wolf. He wants to pretend to be of the Cross of Christ, but he wants to graft the Cross onto the evil tree of Vatican II. It doesn't work. They are incompatible. Vatican II poisons even the Cross. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass grows on the Tree of Our Lord's Cross. It is a product of the Cross. It is a representation of the Sacrifice of Our Lord on the Cross. The Mass cannot be without the Cross. It is the purest and chief fruit of the good Tree, the Cross. The Sacrifice of Our Lord on the Cross on Mt. Calvary is the same as the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Mass is a continuation of Calvary. It is the prophesied Clean Oblation that would be offered everywhere in the world. It is impossible to have Vatican II and the Cross united. Bishop Fellay says that he accepts 95% of Vatican II. It is impossible to accept 95% of Vatican II and have the Catholic Faith. Or what fellowship hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? The Evil Tree cannot bring forth good fruit. If you want Vatican II and the Conciliar Church, the Mass must go. If you want the Mass and the Cross you must have nothing to do with the Church of Vatican II. The Conciliar Church. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication, uncleanness, immodesty, luxury, idolatry, witchcrafts, enmities, contentions, emulations, wraths, quarrels, dissensions, sects [Galatians 5, 19-20]. The Conciliar Church no longer considers the world, the flesh and the devil to be enemies. It is open to them. Immorality poisons those who embrace the Conciliar Church. Fornicators, adulterers, those working the most perverse uncleanness; idolaters, the immodest, witches etc., are all in good standing in the Conciliar Church. And this is necessarily so. The Council teaches Religious Liberty. Everyone is free to make their own religion. The Modernist heresy makes everyone a God. Faith, Religion and God come from within Man. Now the serpent was more subtle than any of the beasts of the earth which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman: Why hath God commanded you, that you should not eat of every tree of paradise? And the woman answered him, saying: Of the fruit of the trees that are in paradise we do eat: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of paradise, God hath commanded us that we should not eat; and that we should not touch it, lest perhaps we die. And the serpent said to the woman: No, you shall not die the death. For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil [Genesis 3:1-5]. This was the temptation of the serpent to Eve. She succumbed to the temptation. The Vatican Council also embraced this temptation. Those following the Council are now "as Gods" knowing good and evil. If they choose to do something it is not evil for them. This temptation appeals to our lower nature. We want to be comfortable with the evil we do. It deadens the conscience. Now, all immorality is necessarily acceptable in the Conciliar Church. In the days of old the perverse men of Sodom said to Lot, "Thou camest in, said they, as a stranger, was it to be a judge?" Pope Francis agrees 100% with the perverse men of Sodom; he infamously said of this vice "Who am I to judge." None of the Conciliar popes have publicly judged this now very public vicious and perverse sin. They cannot because Vatican II agrees with the men of Sodom. Vatican II condones all vicious habits and crimes. Most conciliar Catholics think that contraception is good; many agree that in circumstance abortion is acceptable; fornication is fine; divorce is OK, but we will apply for an annulment before we marry again; there is nothing wrong with immodesty; Sunday is Funday; it is not the Lord's day; fasting and abstinence are not needed. We can run to the butcher shop on Friday like dogs. And the SSPX because of their association with this Conciliar Church has been infected by the evil fruit. Many of these things they also accept. They follow the Conciliar Church and the local bishop. The SSPX committed an act of disobedience to Pope Leo. But they don't have any intention of separating from him. Thus, they don't intend to remain Catholic. And we see that they have been contaminated with many of these poisons and evil fruits of Conciliarism. If we want to remain Catholic; remain united to the Cross of Christ we must have nothing to do with the SSPX. When Our Lord was born in Bethlehem the whole world was at peace. Rome had conquered all the nations and made them part of her Empire. Rome had religious Liberty. When they conquered a nation they let them keep their god and their worship. Their god became one of the gods of the Empire and was added to the Pantheon. The Church of Jesus Christ was different. Our Lord gave the Apostles the Mission: Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world [Matthew 28:19]. All nations are obliged to abandon their gods and their false worship and embrace the only true God. The Christians said: There is only one God and there cannot be more than one. Thus, they did not fit into the Roman system. If they had accepted that their God was one among many they would not have been persecuted. They rejected this and said Our God is the only God. Thus they did not fit into the Imperial system. They had to be converted. After three hundred years and many martyrs had shed their blood for Our Lord Jesus Christ, they converted the Empire and soon after that the worship of false gods was made illegal. The Roman Empire became the Holy Roman Empire. The Conciliar Church now says that Jesus Christ is only one god amongst many gods. Pope John Paul II put Our Lord on the same level as the gods of the Gentiles, who are demons. He did this at Assisi when he invited those worshipping false gods to come and pray with him, they praying to their false gods. Pope Benedict repeated this sin. Popes Francis and Leo have brought idols into St. Peters and worshipped them. As in Pagan Rome, now in Conciliar Rome, all gods are welcome. But there is no longer room for the True God. There cannot be the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered to the true God in the Conciliar Church. It is normal. Religious Liberty is incompatible with the teaching that there is only one True God; only one Religion; and the one sacrifice of the Mass is the only true worship of God. The new SSPX has accepted Pope Benedict's agreements with the Anglicans and Lutherans. Anglicans can now declare themselves Catholic and go to Communion in the SSPX churches. Anglicanism was founded on the right to divorce. There is no obligation for them to go back to their first wife; and there is no obligation for them to go to Confession before going to Communion. A fifty year old Anglican who has never been to Confession can now receive Holy Communion in an SSPX chapel. But a six year old Catholic must make first confession before he can make first Communion. Archbishop Lefebvre understood this well. That is why he said "it is a strict duty of any priest wanting to remain Catholic to separate himself from this conciliar church." The new SSPX refuses to understand this. They want to be united to the Conciliar Church. They want to be united to the evil tree of Vatican II. If you want to remain Catholic you must separate from the SSPX until they renounce 100% of Vatican II; until they renounce 100% of Conciliarism. It is impossible to share in poisoned fruits without becoming poisoned. "St. Pius X did not take a position of weakness; he did not enter into dialogue with the Modernists; he did not try to have a mutual understanding with them. When the modernist cancer began to eat away the Church of Christ, it was not the time for talk and compromise. It was a question of life and death. There could be no ecumenical understanding with the Modernists, and no half measure with the traitor lurking in the square. Pope Pius X did not dialogue or compromise with the enemy. He unmasked them so that they could be recognised" [Fr. Dominique Bourmaud, 100 Years of Modernism, chapter 14]. Archbishop Lefebvre was a true son of St. Pius X; Bishop Fellay and the current superiors of the SSPX are not. The other so-called traditional orders and societies are even more deeply embedded into the Conciliar Church: the Fraternity of St. Peter, the Oratorians, the Institute of Christ the King, etc. Catholics must separate from all of them to remain Catholic. They are grafted onto the evil tree of Vatican II.
"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre
