WHO calls for widespread removal of abortion restrictions, end to ‘criminalization’

WHO calls for widespread removal of abortion restrictions, end to ‘criminalization’
Carla Lockhart, chair of the U.K.’s All Party Parliamentary Pro-life Group, accused the World Health Organization guideline as appearing to have been written ‘by the abortion industry.’

Mon Mar 28, 2022
(LifeSiteNews) – The World Health Organization (WHO) released new guidelines on promoting abortion around the world, calling for an end to “criminalization” and for an ban on any laws that restrict abortion, thus opening the door to sex-selective abortion and abortion up to birth.

Released March 9, the new 170-page handbook from the WHO is entitled “Abortion care guideline.” Drawn up “in a bid to protect the health of women and girls and help prevent over 25 million unsafe abortions that currently occur each year,” the guidelines call for the widespread removal of numerous safeguards that prevent abortion.

The WHO describes the safeguards as “medically unnecessary policy barriers to safe abortion,” and recommends removing “criminalization, mandatory waiting times, the requirement that approval must be given by other people (e.g., partners or family members) or institutions, and limits on when during pregnancy an abortion can take place.”

These are “barriers,” the WHO wrote, that “can lead to critical delays in accessing treatment and put women and girls at greater risk of unsafe abortion, stigmatization, and health complications, while increasing disruptions to education and their ability to work.”

‘Criminalization’ or abortion is ‘gender-based violence’

Linking the “criminalization of abortion” with “forced abortion … denial or delay of safe abortion care and/or post-abortion care, and abuse and mistreatment of women and girls seeking SRH information, goods and services,” the WHO declared that all such actions would be “forms of gender-based violence” that “may amount to torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.”

The WHO also demonstrated its allegiance to LGBT ideology in the text, referring often to a “woman, girl or other pregnant person.” The summary noted that while the word “woman” was used more commonly, it was only for brevity.

Summary of policy recommendations

Among the more than 50 policy recommendations the guidelines presented as an appeal to legislators were the following:
  • Calling for an end to any laws that “restrict abortion by grounds,” thus allowing for sex-selective abortion. (Recommendation 2)
  • Calling for an end to “laws and other regulations that prohibit abortion based on gestational age limits,” thus arguing for abortion up to birth in order to prevent the “unwanted continuation of pregnancy.” (3)
  • Demanding abortion on demand, without the mother having to seek “authorization of any other individual, body or institution,” including a doctor or medical professional. (7)
  • Calling for an end to pre-abortion ultrasound scans, linking this recommendation to the removal of pregnancy term limits on abortion. (10)
  • Calling for a wider range of medical professionals who can offer abortions. (21)
  • Calling for an end to “conscientious objection” on the part of a medic who refuses to participate in abortion. Such an objection “may become indefensible” if the state cannot “protect and fulfill abortion seekers’ rights,” wrote the WHO. (22)
  • The widespread use of abortion pills for “at home” abortions. (48)
  • Calling for an end to a “routine follow-up visit” after an “uncomplicated surgical abortion or medical abortion.” (34)
  • Removal of need for prescriptions for “over-the-counter oral contraceptive pills.” (52)

Writing in the Mail on Sunday, Carla Lockhart – a member of Parliament (MP) for Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party and chair of the All Party Parliamentary Pro-life Group (APPPG) – slated the WHO of “campaigning for the most extreme of positions.”

“Why has it [WHO] taken such a hard-line view which pretends a baby has no humanity until it breathes its first breath?” she asked.

Lockhart was echoed by Fiona Bruce MP, co-chair of the APPPG, who called the handbook “completely unacceptable” and “truly shocking.”

“A viable human being could have his or her life ended up to the point of birth. Yet a day, an hour, even moments later, similar action against a child could constitute murder,” Bruce observed.

Lockhart also highlighted the WHO’s particular choice of numerous “external experts” who were consulted as part of drawing the handbook. Among them are Laura Castleman of Planned Parenthood Michigan; Dr. Dhammika Perera, the global medical director of abortion provider Marie Stopes International; Christina Zampas from the global Center for Reproductive Rights; Karthik Srinivasan, former chief medical adviser for International Planned Parenthood Federation; Marge Berer, the coordinator for International Campaign for Women’s Right to Safe Abortion; and Michalina Drejza, from the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning.

Commenting on this long list of pro-abortion “experts,” Lockhart wrote, “If one looks at the list of ‘experts’ it chose to consult ahead of issuing its new guidelines, a clue emerges.”

Quote:“For the panel includes numerous individuals who work for major abortion providers or lobby groups, including two of the largest abortion providers in the world – MSI Reproductive Choices (formerly Marie Stopes International) and Planned Parenthood.”

“It appears to have been written, to all intents and purposes, by the abortion industry,” she added. “The WHO has allowed itself to be hijacked by these extremists.”

Canadian Poll: Vaccinated People Far More Likely to Support Risking WWIII Over Ukraine

Poll: Vaccinated People Far More Likely to Support Risking WWIII Over Ukraine
Unvaxxed far more likely to support more diplomatic measures.

Summit News | 22 March, 2022

A new poll finds that vaccinated people are far more likely to risk World War III over Ukraine by supporting aggressive measures against Russia, while unvaccinated people are more likely to support diplomatic measures.

The revealing results of the survey, which was conducted by EKOS, were published by the Toronto Star.

Canadians who have received “three or more shots” massively supported expanding sanctions (86%), seizing Russians assets (85%), cutting off shipments of Russian oil (81%) and sending additional military equipment to Ukraine (82%). Over half (52%) supported providing Ukraine with fighter jets.

On the flip side, unvaccinated Canadians were far less likely to support measures that would serve to escalate the conflict.

Indeed, a majority of unvaccinated (52%) don’t support any of the measures listed at all.

“The overwhelming majority probably would have said “use diplomacy” if it was an option but the warhawks behind the poll left it off the list,” comments Chris Menahan.

The insightful poll results back up the claims of many, that the COVID narrative was switched for ‘support Ukraine’ virtually overnight by the media and the unthinking masses immediately displayed their ideological subservience.

NPCs were able to seamlessly transfer from zealous support for vaccines and vitriolic denunciations of anyone who didn’t get one, to zealous support for Ukraine and vitriolic denunciations of anyone who didn’t fully swallow the war narrative.

It seems that mass support for whatever ‘current thing’ the political class and culture demands has become a form of cognitive addiction.

Humanity is seemingly dependent on defining itself by lurching from one crisis to another and weaponizing it to ostracize, publicly shame and deplatform dissidents who suggest all may not be as it seems.

Unbeknown To Most, A Financial Revolution Is Coming That Threatens To Change Everything (And Not For The Better)

[Image: bank-of-japan-says-no-single-cbdc-to-dom...k=BIv8NH8S]

NakedCapitalism.com | MAR 27, 2022

Given how much is at stake, this financial revolution is among the most important questions today’s societies could possibly grapple with. It should be under discussion in every parliament of every land, and every dinner table in every country in the world.

Around 90 central banks are either in the process of experimenting with or are already piloting central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). In a world of just over 190 countries that is a large contingent, but given they include the European Central Bank (ECB) which alone represents 19 Euro Area economies, the actual number of economies involved is well over 100. They include all G20 economies and together represent more than 90% of global GDP.

Three CBDCs have already gone fully live in the past two years: the so-called DCash in the Eastern Caribbean, the Sand Dollar in the Bahamas and the eNaira in Nigeria. The International Monetary Fund, the world’s most powerful supranational financial institution, has been lending its expertise in the roll out of CBDCs. In a recent speech the Fund’s President Kristalina Georgieva lauded the potential benefits (on which more later) of CBDCs while heaping praise on the “ingenuity” of the central banks busily trying to conjure them into existence.

Also firmly on board is the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, which helps many of the world’s largest central banks, including the Federal Reserve and the ECB, manage their assets while obviously keeping all potential conflicts of interests at bay. The fund was the largest beneficiary of the Federal Reserve’s bailout of exchange-traded funds during the market rout of Spring 2020.

In his latest letter to investors, the CEO of BlackRock, Larry Fink, said the Ukrainian conflict has the potential to accelerate the development of digital currencies across the world.

Quote:“The Russian invasion of Ukraine has put an end to the globalization we have experienced over the last three decades As a result, a large-scale reorientation of supply chains will inherently be inflationary…

“The war will prompt countries to re-evaluate their currency dependencies. Even before the war, several governments were looking to play a more active role in digital currencies and define the regulatory frameworks under which they operate…

A global digital payment system, thoughtfully designed, can enhance the settlement of international transactions while reducing the risk of money laundering and corruption. Digital currencies can also help bring down costs of cross-border payments, for example when expatriate workers send earnings back to their families.”

On Tuesday (March 22), the Bank for International Settlements published the findings of a study it had conducted with four central banks — the Reserve Bank of Australia, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the South African Reserve Bank — into the practical challenges of executing cross-border payments between different central bank digital currencies. The report concludes that while major hurdles still remain, financial institutions could use CBDCs issued by participating central banks to transact directly with each other on a shared platform:

Quote:The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Innovation Hub, the Reserve Bank of Australia, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the South African Reserve Bank today announced the completion of prototypes for a common platform enabling international settlements using multiple central bank digital currencies (mCBDCs).

Led by the Innovation Hub’s Singapore Centre, Project Dunbar proved that financial institutions could use CBDCs issued by participating central banks to transact directly with each other on a shared platform. This has the potential to reduce reliance on intermediaries and, correspondingly, the costs and time taken to process cross-border transactions.

The project was organised along three workstreams: one focusing on high-level functional requirements and design, and two concurrent technical streams that developed prototypes on different technological platforms (Corda and Partior).

The project identified three critical questions: which entities should be allowed to hold and transact with CBDCs issued on the platform? How could the flow of cross-border payments be simplified while respecting regulatory differences across jurisdictions? What governance arrangements could give countries sufficient comfort to share critical national infrastructure such as a payments system?

The project proposed practical solutions for addressing these issues, which were validated through the development of prototypes that demonstrated the technical viability of shared multi-CBDC platforms for international settlements.

The findings of the experimental CBDC program could assist in the adoption of CBDC international settlement for G-20 nations, though given the rising geopolitical fissures in the so-called “international rules based order”, it is far from clear which countries would be willing to engage with one another in such a way.

China has already launched its own digital yuan and is piloting its use in more than a dozen cities and regions. It has also been experimenting with its cross-border functionality. This has ignited fears in the West that that U.S. “financial leadership” is under threat — fears that have been magnified by the way US and EU sanctions against Russia, particularly the confiscation of a large chunk of Russia’s foreign currency reserves have backfired, encouraging not just Russia but many countries on the planet to seek out an alternative cross-border payments system.

At the same time, the U.S. is determined to continue playing a leading role in the new global financial architecture. To that end, it has cobbled together a tentative consortium of “seven of the largest Western-aligned central banks, led in practice by the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank… aimed at creating a system of ‘interoperable’ CBDCs,” reports Washington DC-based blogger and analyst NS Lyons in the article, Just Say No to CBDCs.

But what are CBDCs? How will they work? What purposes could they serve? How might they affect the general populations of the countries where they are introduced? To answer the first two questions, here’s an excerpt from “Just Say No to CBDCs“:

Quote:You might assume that you are already using “digital currency” regularly if you rarely use physical cash anymore and instead buy almost everything with a credit card or a digital payment app. In truth, the process of moving money from A to B is vastly more complicated than that. It involves a tangle of payment processors, banks, financial clearinghouses, and, if your money is crossing borders, international communication and exchange systems, such as the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT). The money itself doesn’t move anywhere fast, so each intermediary institution must assume risks to fulfill your transaction by accepting promises, sending transfers, verifying receipt of funds, and so on. Many fees get collected along the way for such services.

A CBDC system would be radically simplified. A customer would open an account directly with a country’s central bank, and the central bank would issue (create) digital money in the account. Crucially, this makes the money a direct liability of the Fed, rather than of a private bank. Using a simple smartphone app or other tools, the customer can then initiate direct transactions between Fed accounts. The digital money is deleted in one account and recreated in another instantaneously. Moving money across borders no longer requires something as complex as SWIFT or wire transfers, and currencies can be exchanged instantly as long as friendly central banks have agreements to do so. No promises or trust are necessary; every transaction is permanently recorded on a digital cryptographic ledger in real time—a bit like Bitcoin, but exquisitely centralized rather than distributed.

This brings us to question 3: what purposes will CBDCs serve? The most commonly cited justification for launching CBDCs is to counter the risk posed by so-called “stable coins”, which are relatively new forms of cryptocurrency that are pegged to the value of a fiat currency (e.g, the dollar or the euro), to material assets such as gold or property, or to another cryptocurrency.

There are also concerns that tech giants will begin challenging established banks and payment operators for market share in the financial sector, as already happened in China with Tencent and Alibaba. As a recent UK parliamentary report titled “Central Bank Digital Currencies: A Solution in Search of a Problem?!” put it, “the use of physical cash is in decline in many countries and some central banks are worried that this could undermine public confidence in the monetary system if individuals are unable to convert commercial bank money into cash, which is a direct claim on the state.”

In March 2020, the Bank of England published a consultation which set out seven ways in which a CBDC could support the Bank’s objectives to maintain monetary and financial stability:
  • By supporting a resilient payments landscape.
  • By avoiding the risks of new forms of private money creation.
  • By supporting competition, efficiency and innovation in payments.
  • By meeting future payment needs in a digital economy.
  • By improving the availability and usability of central bank money.
  • By addressing the consequences of a decline in cash.
  • As an enabler for better cross-border payments.

In a speech to mark the launch of the G7’s report on central bank digital currencies, the UK’s Chancellor of Exchequer Rishi Sunak described CBDCs as “part of the wider story of digital innovation” that is sweeping the planet. But most people in the West are not even aware of CBDCs, let alone how they could impact their lives. According to a survey by G+D Currency Technology, one of the companies helping to develop CBDCs, less than 20% of people in the U.S. and Germany were respectively aware of the digital dollar or the digital euro.

So how could CBDCs impact our lives?

Here are four of the most important ways:

It will grant central banks far more power over our payment behavior.

A central bank digital currency system will technically no longer require middlemen such as banks or credit card companies. That said, one can safely assume that the largest financial institutions, most of which have been helping to install the architecture for the CBDC system, will find a new role in the new digital reality. NS Lyons notes:

[Central banks] will retain complete oversight and control over the creation, destruction, and “movement” of money, no matter where it is “held” or who “has” it. As Agustin Carstens, general manager of the Bank of International Settlements put it at a 2020 summit of the IMF: “We don’t know who’s using a $100 bill today and we don’t know who’s using a 1,000 peso bill today. The key difference with the CBDC is the central bank will have absolute control [over] the rules and regulations that will determine the use of that expression of central bank liability, and also we will have the technology to enforce that.”

That power could be used to “program” our spending.

One way central banks could use its expanded influence is to exert control over people’s spending habits. In June 2021, the Daily Telegraph reported (behind paywall) that the Bank of England had asked Government ministers to decide whether a central bank digital currency should be “programmable”. According to Tom Mutton, a director at the Bank of England, “There could be some socially beneficial outcomes from that, preventing activity which is seen to be socially harmful in some way.” This could bring huge advantages for both government and central banks, says Lyons:

Quote:The Fed could directly subtract taxes and fees from any account, in real time, with every transaction or paycheck, if it wished. There could be no more tax evasion; the Fed would have a complete record of every transaction made by everyone. Money laundering, terrorist financing, any other unapproved transaction would become extremely difficult. Fines, such as for speeding or jaywalking, could be levied in real time, if CBDC accounts were connected to a network of “smart city” surveillance. Nor would there be any need to mail out stimulus checks, tax refunds, or other benefits, such as universal basic income payments. Such money could just be deposited directly into accounts. But a CBDC would allow government to operate at much higher resolution than that if it wished. Targeted microfinance grants, added straight to the accounts of those people and businesses considered especially deserving, would be a relatively simple proposition.

Other potential forms of programming applications include setting expiry dates for stimulus funds or welfare payments to encourage users to spend it quickly.

As the FT reported, central bank digital currencies will almost certainly have to go hand in hand with digital IDs: “What CBDC research and experimentation appears to be showing is that it will be nigh on impossible to issue such currencies outside of a comprehensive national digital ID management system. Meaning: CBDCs will likely be tied to personal accounts that include personal data, credit history and other forms of relevant information.”

Combining digital currencies with digital IDs while phasing out, or even banning, the use of cash would grant governments and central banks the ability not only to track every purchase we make but also to determine what we can and cannot spend out money on.

They could also be used to strongly encourage “desirable” social and political behavior while penalizing those who do not toe the line. As Lyons points out, “The most dangerous individuals or organizations could simply have their digital assets temporarily deleted or their accounts’ ability to transact frozen with the push of a button, locking them out of the commercial system and greatly mitigating the threat they pose. No use of emergency powers or compulsion of intermediary financial institutions would be required: the United States has no constitutional right enshrining the freedom to transact.”

No limit on negative interest rates.

Beyond having far greater control over people’s spending habits, central banks would also have the possibility of taking interest rates into far deeper negative territory. If there is no cash, there is no means for people to escape negative rates no matter how negative they go. This is one of the benefits often lauded by Harvard economist Kenneth Rogoff of a completely cashless society. Yet central banks continue to insist that physical cash will not be eliminated once the CBDCs are fully operational. But as I’ve noted previously, central banks are not exactly known for keeping their word.

Financial exclusion on steroids.

One of the most important benefits of cash is its universality, making it a vital public good, particularly for the poorest and most vulnerable in society. Also excluded in a purely cashless society would be anyone who objected to having others spy on their transactions (h/t hickory). As I note in my book, Scanned: Why Vaccine Passports and Digital Identity Will Mean the End of Privacy and Personal Freedom, if central banks and governments were to do away with cash or to vastly accelerate its demise by penalizing its use (while incentivizing the use of CBDCs), we would probably see a huge increase in financial exclusion:

Quote:Even proponents of CBDCs admit that central bank digital currencies could have serious drawbacks, including further exacerbating income and wealth equality.

“The rich might be more capable than others of taking advantage of new investment opportunities and reaping most of the benefits,” says Eswar Prasadm a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute and author of The Future of Money: Hoe the Digital Revolution Is Transforming Currencies and Finance. “As the economically marginalized have limited digital access and lack financial literacy, some of the changes could harm as much as they could help those segments of the population.”

So, not only will the introduction of CBDCs strip global citizens of one of the last vestiges of freedom, privacy and anonymity (i.e., cash), it could also exacerbate the upward transfer of wealth and power that many societies have witnessed since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Lyons warns that CBDCs, “if not deliberately and carefully constrained in advance by law,… have the potential to become even more than a technocratic central planner’s dream. They could represent the single greatest expansion of totalitarian power in history.”

Given how much is at stake, CBDCs are among the most important questions today’s societies could possibly grapple with - not only from a financial or business perspective but also from an ethical and legal standpoint. They should be under discussion in every parliament of every land, and every dinner table in every country in the world.

Biden says food shortages are ‘going to be real,’ not only in Europe but in US

Biden says food shortages are ‘going to be real,’ not only in Europe but in US
‘We did talk about food shortages. It’s going to be real,’ Biden said after meetings with G7 and NATO leaders amid record-level food prices.

Thu Mar 24, 2022
BRUSSELS (LifeSiteNews) – Joe Biden on Thursday acknowledged coming global food shortages due to the Ukraine-Russia conflict and sanctions imposed by the West on Russia and said the shortages will impact the United States.

“We did talk about food shortages. It’s going to be real. The price of these sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia. It’s imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well including European countries and our country as well,” Biden told reporters at NATO headquarters in Brussels after talks with Western leaders about food shortages.

“Because Russia and Ukraine have been the breadbasket of Europe in terms of wheat, for example, just to give one example, but we had a long discussion in the G-7 with both the United States, which is … the third-largest producer of wheat in the world, as well as Canada, which is also a major, major producer,” he said.

The U.S. and Canada have discussed how the two countries can “increase and disseminate more rapidly foods,” Biden said, and “talked about urging all the European countries and everyone else to end trade restrictions on sending … limitations on sending food abroad.”

“And so, we are in the process of working out with our European friends what it would … take to help alleviate the concerns relative to food shortages.”

Ukraine and Russia together produce around one-third of global wheat exports and significant amounts of fertilizer and fuel, in addition to corn, rye, and other food products. Russia is the world’s largest manufacturer of fertilizer.

Sanctions imposed on Russian exports by the Biden administration and U.S. allies have sent fertilizer prices skyrocketing, according to the Washington Examiner, raising fears about food shortages across Europe. Russia temporarily suspended grain and most sugar trade with several former Soviet countries earlier this month.

And in Ukraine, farmers have said that a lack of energy, fertilizer, and other materials could result in the country’s winter wheat yields dropping by 15 percent or more, Reuters reported. Wheat prices have shot up 50 percent since February, and fertilizer costs have spiked by nearly one-third since the beginning of the year, surpassing record peaks during the 2008 food and energy crisis.

Food prices in the U.S. have already exploded in recent months under the Biden regime, in large part due to unprecedented federal spending. The Ukraine conflict and sanctions will only make price hikes worse, the New York Post reports:

Quote:The Green Markets North American Fertilizer Index, already high, jumped 16% last Friday. Urea, a major fertilizer ingredient, went up 22%. Potash, another major ingredient (Russia is the top producer), increased 34% in Brazil, the world’s leading fertilizer importer. The price for standard “starter fertilizer” 10-34-0 is up 49% from a year ago and likely to go much higher.

Bloomberg analyst Alexis Maxwell calls it “a slow-moving disaster.”

The issue is that farmland without fertilizer is vastly less productive. Without fertilizer, corn and wheat yields in the United States would decline by more than 40%. But as prices promise to go much higher, farmers will either have to skimp on fertilizer or raise prices of their own products a lot.

Then, too, there are skyrocketing prices for gasoline and diesel, which are essential for today’s mechanized farming and for getting food to consumers. Add these increases in cost and decreases in production to the shortages likely to come from the Ukraine invasion, and we’re looking at really dramatic increases in food prices.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki commented last week on the possibility of food shortages, stating at the time that they were not expected to affect Americans.

“While we’re not expecting a food shortage here at home, we do anticipate that higher energy, fertilizer, wheat, and corn prices could impact the price of growing and purchasing critical fuel supply, food supplies for countries around the world,” she said. “Ukraine is a big exporter of fertilizer. So as it relates to even that need in the United States and other parts of the world, that’s something that we’re continuing to closely assess as well.”

The United Nations’ food agency said this month that international food and feed prices could rise by 20 percent amid the war in Ukraine. Global food prices hit historic highs last month, according to the agency.

SSPX Recent Meeting with Modernist Rome
Posted by: BVMcrusader - 03-25-2022, 06:34 PM - Forum: The New-Conciliar SSPX - Replies (1)

In the event that anyone doubts the continued progress of the SSPX towards modernist Rome, there is an "official announcement" on their website detailing that Fr. Pagliarani met with Francis on February 8th. One wonders why this announcement was made six weeks after the fact and on the same day as the blasphemous "consecration",  when we should rather be honoring Our Lady and her Divine Son in the mystery of the Incarnation. One also wonders how it is possible to share polite conversations and memories of Argentina with the enemies of the Church, rather than denouncing the heresies of Vatican II. This is yet another scandal and betrayal of the spirit Archbishop Lefebvre. God bless our faithful priests, few though they may be, who are fighting on the front lines for Truth without compromise in the spirit of their Founder!

Fr. Rafael Arizaga to his Oblates, Friends, and Benefactors: On the upcoming Consecration
Posted by: Stone - 03-25-2022, 11:44 AM - Forum: Add'nl Clergy - No Replies

Dear Oblates, Friends and Benefactors,

I am writing to warn you about the false consecration that Pope Francis will carry out with many bishops of the world. It will use a formula of "consecration" that has as its purpose the "false peace”, using as a means to obtain it, a "consecration" of the Church, of humanity, and especially of Russia and Ukraine.

To begin with, the formula is ambiguous, it uses at the same level and without distinction, human peace and Divine Peace; human unity merges with Divine unity. The aforementioned consecration for "human unity" mixes this with the true consecration that will not be done, which is what the Blessed Virgin of Fatima has been asking to be done for 93 years, a consecration that implies asking for the separation of Russia from the rest of the world, to deliver it to Divine unity…so that Russia may belong to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! So that through Her it will belong to God, and not to purely human unity! (UN) that Jesus Christ never promised or sought.

This consecration is modernist, blasphemous, lying, hypocritical, and ambiguous. This formula implies that the Blessed Virgin Mary agrees to work for a false ecumenism of religious freedom. It implies that the Blessed Virgin Mary seeks Masonic peace. It implies that the Blessed Virgin Mary identifies with the Pachamama by also applying to Mary Most Holy the title that is applied in Chile to the Pachamama by the Mapuas, from being "Land of Heaven" to "Mother Earth”.

Pope Francis seeks with this "consecration" to align Russia and Ukraine with the "new world order" that seeks "peace", "the dreams of peace of the peoples and the hopes of the young" (Goal of the UN).

In other words, it seeks to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the service of the new ideologies and the new Abrahamic religion. In the formula is included the word "fraternity" with a Masonic sense, attributing with blasphemy to the Blessed Virgin, Queen, the mission of "showing the peoples the path of fraternity". It is the same "peace" and "fraternity" of the UN to which Francis has asked us to submit on several occasions.

This “consecration”, being humanistic and ecumenical, necessarily seeks to consecrate us NOT to the Living God, but to the universal "god", "to the god of the world", to the god of the new world order, to Satan. In short, this event will be a diabolical prodigy with appearances of a miracle seeking to "deceive even the elect.”

In view of such great enthusiasm, I call on all of you and all Catholics not to join this "consecration." What we can do in reparation and obedience to the Blessed Virgin and to Our Most Holy Redeemer is to offer fasting, penance, prayer, and mortification this same March 25 in reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary for this unspeakable outrage towards their beloved and most sacred Hearts.

Let us make this offer as requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary to the children in Fatima:

"O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners and in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary."

Whatever we do in the day offer it to console the Heart of Mary and repeat throughout the day this ejaculation: "Immaculate Heart of Mary, be the salvation of my soul." It is the prayer that Jacinta made all the time.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces, forgive such an offense, and may she convert our hearts and have mercy on us in the great and imminent punishment announced by the apostasy and prevarication of Catholics who did not want to listen to or obey our Mother of Heaven.

With my Blessing,

Rev. Father Rafael OSB

U.I.O.G.D.

“That in all things God be Glorified."

Fr. Ruiz: Notice and Prayer for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart
Posted by: Stone - 03-25-2022, 09:00 AM - Forum: Rev. Father Hugo Ruiz Vallejo - Replies (1)

From an email received March 25, 2022 [computer translated from the Spanish]:

CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

To recite with my faithful and friends on March 25, 2022, if possible at 3 p.m., if not at any time possible, beginning by reciting the Holy Rosary with arms outstretched.
Those who cannot say this Consecration on the 25th they can say as soon as possible. But everyone can renew it as many times as they wish.

WARNING

After the initiative of the Ukrainian bishops to ask Pope Francis for the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, from the later acceptance by the Pope and after the publication by the Vatican of the text that should be used for this purpose, I think it is necessary that I make my faithful and friends the following:

- As a matter of principle, we cannot be indifferent to an initiative that concerns the petition made through Sister Lucia in the Trinitarian apparition of June 13, 1929 and that concerns the future only from Russia but also from the world.

- The text of the consecration that has been published by the Vatican does not seem to conform perfectly to the requests of heaven. First, because Russia is not put as the main object of the consecration but at the end and only in a "special way" also equating it to Ukraine. This happens from a similar manner to several consecrations already made by previous Popes, who for not complying with all the conditions requested by heaven, did not obtain the conversion of Russia or the triumph of the Church, even if they obtained perhaps partial graces.

- This consecration has too many "dyes" and "shades" of what is "politically correct" in a current globalist, naturalistic and relativistic context. Expressions such as: “community of nations” (does reference to the UN?), "we are betraying the dreams of peace of the peoples" (as if today the "dreams of peace” of the peoples, who positively exclude the Social Reign of Christ, deserve to be respected as something legitimate, and better why not say that by the very fact they are a utopia?), "we are custodians of our neighbor and of our common home", "garden of the earth", "we consecrate to you... the aspirations of the peoples” (to what aspirations and to what peoples does it refer?), “land of Heaven”… There is too much insistence
on human ills and not so much on spiritual ills. Speaking of harmony and union between the peoples making too general a reference to God, not enough reference is made to the one Church of God which is the Catholic Church, the only true and only means of salvation.

- God set as a condition to grant world peace, an act of public reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for so many offenses that have been committed in the world against Him, peace it will not come except through this act of reparation. The text of the consecration of Pope Francis seems more concerned with obtaining peace than with making an explicit reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The sins of the people are the cause of divine punishment, it is necessary first to ask for forgiveness, and not only pray for the peoples without first asking for the grace of the conversion of these peoples. The Vatican II Magisterium forgot the value of reparation and atonement to Divine justice, especially in the liturgy, and behold the results. In the end, what are the requests of the message of Our Lady of Fatima? in the following: CONVERSION, PENANCE, PRAYER AND SACRIFICE.

Dear faithful and friends, faced with a text that does not meet all the expectations of heaven expressed in the message of Fatima, I consider that it becomes necessary to use another to be able to make this consecration. If so I have allowed myself to prepare the text that follows of the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

Father Hugo Ruiz V.

CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

[Image: ba0db2ea-0cb8-4195-80fc-b01e5e93c365.jpg]

Oh Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, who had the privilege of being Immaculate in Your whole being from the first instant of your Immaculate Conception, in anticipation of Your divine Maternity. To you, whom the Eternal Father wanted to associate His Son, the Eternal Word, in the redemptive work and that for this wanted to give You a mother's heart, an Immaculate Heart, a Heart so broad as the sands of the seashore, to comfort Jesus in the Calvary and to intercede for all humanity.

In a spirit of reparation, for so many offenses that humanity has committed against your Immaculate Heart, today we want to make a solemn act of expiation to console Him and through Him obtain the favor of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, your Divine Son.

In this hour of darkness that humanity lives, we come to entrust to your Immaculate Heart in a very special way to that poor Russian nation to which that You, by a merciful gesture, have decided to help. To that nation which, despite being separated from the Church by error, You have always professed a unique devotion. To that nation that has borne so long the yoke implacable communism and has been used by it to spread its mistakes around the world.

Seconding the wishes of God and Yours, today we want to consecrate Russia to Your Immaculate Heart so that He may obtain that grace that in a moment can change hearts, so that He uses this nation to spread throughout the world, not now the errors but the Faith of the true and only Church of Christ.

Mother of Mercy, Mother of God and our Mother, grant our humble petitions and grant humanity true peace, the peace of Christ in the kingdom of Christ. Amen.

Immaculate Heart of Mary!
Pray for us now and at the hour of our death!

Fr. Helmuts Libietis: Consecration Prayer of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary [2022]

CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
by Fr. Helmuts Libietis [March 24, 2022]

O most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, today we belatedly come to you, lamenting our past neglect and indifference in consecrating Russia to your Immaculate Heart, in accordance with your requests made at Fatima, Portugal (1917); Pontevedra, Spain (1925), and Tuy, Spain (1929).

THE CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, at Fatima in 1917, during the First World War, you showed the three children a vision of Hell and said: “You have seen Hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end―but if people do not cease offending God, a worse war will break out! … Know that God is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.”

You further said that, at some future date, you would come to formally ask for the consecration of Russia to your Immaculate Heart―in order to convert that nation and prevent it from spreading its errors throughout the world; provoking wars; annihilating nations; and persecuting the Church: “To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace―if not, Russia will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.”

Then, at Tuy (1929) you finally stated: “The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means!”

Sadly, popes, clergy and laity have been either reticent or indifferent in fulfilling your commands. We have not fulfilled the consecration in accordance with your demands―namely, that Russia be specifically consecrated to your Immaculate Heart, and also in union with all the bishops of the world. Nor have we sufficiently spread and established, throughout the world, devotion to your Immaculate Heart.

We wish to make amends for this neglect and so, today, in union with all the bishops of the world [and anyone else who is participating in this act], we unequivocally, unambiguously and unreservedly consecrate Russia―both as a nation, together with all its individual persons―to your Immaculate Heart! We beg you to obtain from God, mercy for that nation and its people, and also the grace of conversion, so that Russia may return to unity of the One True Flock of Christ, from which it is separated by schism since 1054―as Jesus said: “What man of you, that has an hundred sheep, and if he shall lose one of them, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go after that which was lost, until he find it?” (Luke 15:4) … “Other sheep I have, that are not of this fold―them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd” (John 10:16), so “that they may be one, as We, Father, also are one” (John 17:22) and that there may be “One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism” (Ephesians 4:5).

O most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Refuge of Sinners, kindly accept this belated consecration and obtain the grace of conversion for Russia and its people! Forgive them their sins! Save them from Hell! Lead them to penance, lest they perish! Bring them back to the One True Fold of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church!

THE CONVERSION OF SINNERS

O most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Church teaches that the greatest and most serious sins are those against God and the Faith. Pope Pius XI wrote that Russia “is Bolshevistic and atheistic Communism, which aims at upsetting the social order and at undermining the very foundations of Christian civilization. In the face of such a threat, the Catholic Church could not and does not remain silent ... for it knows that its proper and social mission is to defend truth, justice and all those eternal values which Communism ignores or attacks” (Encyclical: Divini Redemptoris, 1937).

Our Lady of Fatima, you warned that Russia “will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church.” You also revealed, to Sister Lucia of Fatima, that Communism would take over the entire world! Those “errors of Russia”, which are the “errors of Atheistic Communism” are “errors of sin”―and today the whole world labors under those “errors of sin”―awaiting a total Communist takeover. That fatal error of sinfulness, justly and rightly, deserves Divine retribution, punishment and chastisement: “The wages of sin is death! … Sin hath reigned to death! … All have sinned, and do need the glory [mercy and grace] of God!” (Romans 6:23; 5:21; 3:23) ... “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us! If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us!” (1 John 1:8-10).

At Pontevedra in Spain (December 10, 1925), you appeared with the Child Jesus to Sr. Lucia. Jesus said: “Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment―and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them!” You then revealed your Immaculate Heart and said: “Look at my Heart surrounded with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude!”

At Tuy in Spain (June 13, 1929) you further said to Sr. Lucia: “So numerous are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins committed against me, that I come to ask for reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray!”

Later (May 30, 1930), your Son, Jesus, revealed to Sr. Lucia what the chief sins against you were:

● Blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception.
● Blasphemies against your perpetual Virginity.
● Blasphemies against your divine Maternity, while refusing at the same time to recognize you as the Mother of men.
● The blasphemies of those who publicly seek to place in the hearts of children indifference or scorn, or even hatred towards you.
● The offenses of those who outrage you directly in your holy images.

Jesus then added: “Move My mercy to forgive souls who have had the misfortune to offend her! Seek, unceasingly, through your prayers and sacrifices, to move My mercy with regard to these poor souls!”

O most Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, at Fatima (1917) you said: “Are you willing to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the conversion of sinners? … Then you are going to have much to suffer! … Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say many times, especially when you make some sacrifice: ‘O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary!’” O most holy Mother of God―we offer ourselves to God through thy Immaculate Heart and are willing to bear uncomplainingly all the sufferings God will send us as an act of reparation for our own personal sins, the sins and blasphemies of others, and for the conversion of all sinners―not only in Russia, but in the whole world.

You also said at Fatima: “You have seen Hell where the souls of poor sinners go! To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved!” Grant us the grace to be truly devoted to your Immaculate Heart and to spread that devotion to your Immaculate Heart throughout the world―beginning with those persons who surround us in our daily life―thereby hoping to make some reparation for the many blasphemies committed against your Immaculate Heart.

Grant us also the grace of being truly devoted to your Holy Rosary, for at Fatima you ceaselessly asked for the Rosary to be prayed: “Pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war!” (May 1917) … “Pray the Rosary every day, to bring peace to the world and the end of the war!” … (June 1917) … “Continue to pray the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, in order to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war, because only she can help you! … If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted!” (July 1917) … “Continue to pray the Rosary every day! … Pray, pray very much!” (August 1917) … “Continue to pray the Rosary in order to obtain the end of the war!” (September 1917) … “I am the Lady of the Rosary. Continue always to pray the Rosary every day!” (October 1917). Above all, obtain for us the grace to not merely “say” the Rosary, but to “pray” the Rosary―to meditate it, learn from it and put into practice what it contains. It is said that you will one day save the world through the Rosary and the Scapular! Hasten that hour! Hasten the hour of the Triumph of your Immaculate Heart―that you promised would take place! Hasten the hour of the conversion of Russia! Immaculate Heart of Mary―pray for us!

  About the March 25th Consecration
Posted by: Stone - 03-24-2022, 01:05 PM - Forum: General Commentary - No Replies

My dear friends,

There is much being said about Pope Francis' upcoming Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart on March 25, 2022. Since the text of the formula being used was released a few days ago, it has caused a myriad of emotions.

Some believe that there is enough of the 'essentials' of Heaven's request to possibly fulfil the requirements (e.g. see here). If this is true, wouldn't it be incredibly ironic that one of the most corrupt popes in history (Pope Francis) may be the one to fulfill, more closely than Pius XII or JPII, the necessary requirements for the complete Consecration?

Others think that the formula and other requirements are not being completely done, that Francis' Consecration will fall into the same category as the Consecrations of Popes Pius XII and John Paul II - that of an incomplete Consecration (see here).

On the other hand, the sedevacantists and any one else who denies Francis is the pope, are screaming that this is a sacrilege because of the Conciliar verbiage and because of Pope Francis' errors.

Where the truth lies we don't know. We may have a better idea after the Consecration.

But whatever the outcome, the very best we laity can do is to try tomorrow to honor Our Lady, to make prayers of reparation, to offer ourselves to the Immaculate Heart, and to pray especially for the clergy, for it was to the pope and the bishops this dictate was given.

Let us leave aside all the clamor. Let us follow the advice of Fr. Hewko and Fr. Ruiz, who remind us to humbly offer our prayers in reparation to the Immaculate Heart. The rest is in God's Hands. He has foreseen all that will occur. March 25th is the Feast of the Annunciation. Let us imitate the great humility of Our Lady as She was greeted by the Angel Gabriel, whose feast is today. And may God's will be done.

THE UNCROSSABLE RED LINE: Viganò Responds to George Weigel at First Things
Written by  Carlo Maria Viganò

The Remnant | March 22, 2022

I was not a little amazed by the conflation of my identity with the personality of Colonel Grace-Groundling-Marchpole made by George Weigel in his commentary published on March 16 at First Things (here). My amazement derives from the curious way this article aligns with that of Weigel’s friend Roberto De Mattei, Riflessioni sull’anno che si apre [Reflections on the Year About to Begin], which appeared at Corrispondenza Romana on December 29, 2021 (here), about the alleged refutation of my statements to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (here) made, coincidentally, by Professor Weigel’s daughter, Dr. Gwyneth A. Spaeder (here) [curiously not in English but only in Italia], who is a pediatrician and the wife of an executive at one of the major consulting firms for the pharmaceutical industry.

De Mattei’s article also contains the insinuation that I can be counted among those who see conspiracies everywhere, following the established practice of delegitimizing the interlocutor by means of his psychiatrization. At least Weigel limited himself to presenting me as an eccentric conspiracy theorist, borrowing a character from Evelyn Waugh’s trilogy, Sword of Honor, while De Mattei also mentioned, in addition to the psychiatric délire d’intérpretation, the hypothesis of diabolical possession.

I wonder if seeing a certain ratio in the coordinated action of Weigel and De Mattei represents a “connecting dots that no rational person would imagine connecting or even think connectable” (quoting from the First Things article) or rather if it is not readily noticeable to anyone. It seems simplistic to dismiss everything with the accusation of “conspiracy theory” against those who denounce the plots instead of those who plot them, especially when the conspiracy is admitted by its own architects, starting with Soros’ involvement in the Euromaidan color revolution.  But if we see that a member of Pravij Sektor, Serhiy Dybynyn, was immortalized during the farce of the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 (here and here), the idea that something is not exactly as they tell us starts to dawn even on people less inclined to “connect the dots.”

Of course it is very strange that, in the face of a series of facts agreed on both by doctors and scientists (with regard to criticism of the experimental serum) and by political scientists and experts in international strategy (with regard to the present Russian-Ukrainian crisis), these two friends and colleagues – De Mattei and Weigel – are undertaking a joint action against me, not because of what I say – they are careful not to refute anything I have said by debating the facts or producing clear evidence – but simply deciding ex cathedra that since I do not share their positions on the pandemic or the Ukrainian conflict, I must be silenced without appeal, because of an alleged duty of respect towards “their” truth.

Weigel has made his ruling: Supposedly I have crossed the uncrossable “red line” which he has drawn with his own hand by his own motu proprio. In listing the alleged “lies, slander and propaganda of the Kremlin” in my statement, Weigel does not realize that his statements are disproven by the documented facts, beginning with the bombing of the Mariupol children’s hospital (which had long been evacuated and used as a military barracks), as well as with what happened with the supposed “thousands of victims” of Russian bombs that destroyed the theater in the same city, a story which has been denied by the Ukrainian local authorities.

With regard to my statement on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which George Weigel calls an “encyclical” with debatable irony, a list of “manifestly false claims” has been drafted, evidently assuming that the readers of First Things have not read my statement. And one wonders if Weigel himself even read it, since everything that is disputed as false has actually been documented by me in my article, with sources and references to official news. Those who reproach me for “repeating the Kremlin propaganda point by point” should explain what in my analysis does not correspond to the reality of the facts, and why they do not consider the propaganda of the deep state to be such, which thus far has proven to falsify reality in a way that borders on the grotesque, beginning with the case of American biolabs on Ukrainian territory, whose existence has been denied by the White House but affirmed by the WHO (here), which asked that the pathogens be destroyed.

The Biden family’s involvement in Burisma and other corruption in Ukraine was even acknowledged by Joe Biden in a video, as was the media propaganda operation to cover up the evidence of collusion with the Ukrainian regime – and more – that was recovered on Hunter’s laptop (here).

The deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure blamed on the Russians is proving – based on multiple testimonies of Ukrainian citizens – to have been caused largely by Zelensky’s militias, including neo-Nazi paramilitary formations, which have been denounced as guilty of war crimes by the UN and Amnesty International since the Euromaidan revolution. The sending of arms to Ukraine is causing very serious cases of summary justice, settling of scores and lynchings that have no legitimacy and that put the population in serious danger. A few days ago, a load of weapons was intercepted on a plane that officially was supposed to be bringing “humanitarian aid” from the Italian government to Ukraine.

The censorship in Europe of the broadcasters Russia Today and Sputnik is right in line with the unification of all the information platforms that Zelensky has ordered in recent days, and also the suppression of the eleven opposition parties (here): a strange way of implementing “Western values,” “democracy” and “freedom of the press.”

Soros’ role in the Maidan revolution was declared by the “philanthropist” himself (here), who took credit for financing the insurgency that led to the deposing of the democratically elected pro-Russian President Yanukovych and replacing him with Poroshenko, who was approved by the US and NATO.

The presence of neo-Nazi forces was declared by the US Congress, which in 2015 suspended the training of neo-Nazis of the Azov battalion in the US with an amendment that was later canceled due to pressure from the CIA (here).

The violations of the Kiev agreements and the persecution of the Russian-speaking minority in Donbass has been extensively documented by international organizations and the media that today censor their own news stories (here): more than 14,000 victims of this ethnic cleansing against Russian-speaking citizens are estimated. The Zelensky government not only did not oppose this violence by neo-Nazi groups, but deliberately denied it and regularized the Azov battalion as an official military force.

The ideological continuity between the pandemic farce and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis continues to emerge, beyond the evidence of the events and statements of the subjects involved, in the fact that the ultimate perpetrators of both are the same, all attributable to the globalist cabal of the World Economic Forum. By way of example, Secretary of State Tony Blinken is the founder of the strategic consulting firm WestExec Advisors, connected to the Davos Forum, which has over 20 of its people in the Biden Administration (here, here and here). Many WestExec employees have been or still are in very close relationship with the World Economic Forum, starting with Michelle Flournoy and Jamie Smith, as Politico has denounced (here).

These are not “conspiracy theories, but facts. Period!

Finally, with regard to my reference to the “Third Rome,” I am surprised that, in the presence of an imminent danger of escalation of the conflict, Weigel criticizes me for having used in a political sense an argument of the Russian role as opposing party, with the aim of demonstrating readiness for dialogue with a view to peace. From what I have written it is clear that I had no intention of giving a doctrinal basis or legitimization to a pan-Slavic or pan-Orthodox vision that, as a Roman Catholic, is not part of my cultural and religious heritage. On the contrary, it is curious that it is precisely the proponents of ecumenical dialogue who are tearing their garments over a topic that, without any exaggeration, could open the way for a return of the schismatic parts of the Eastern Church to Catholic unity.

This desire to interpret whatever I say in a negative sense is an indication of insincerity and a prejudice that goes against the Truth even before it goes against Charity. But when one lies about the reality that we have right in front of our eyes in order to please one’s masters, the truth is treated as an inconvenient tinsel and no longer as an attribute of God. And it is embarrassing, to say the least, to see how positions shared up until a few weeks before the conflict, are today denied and considered forms of collaboration or support for Russia.

I wish to strongly reiterate that my words must not be interpreted as a legitimization of the war, the primary victims of which are the Ukrainian people because of their government’s collusion with the deep state. My words are intended to be, as they were on the occasion of the pandemic farce, a call to the truth, a denunciation of the lies and falsifications of reality, an appeal to the use of critical judgment in front of the media narrative. Perhaps the fact that I have no superiors to whom I must respond, makes me an inconvenient person, and my position turns out to be incomprehensible to anyone who proves not to be intellectually independent.

Weigel’s article has one merit: it reveals to us the unsuspected proximity of a certain moderate conservatism with the demands of the deep church, and at the same time the subordination of the American neo-con world with the deep state and their Democratic accomplices.

On the other hand, I believe that the political and ideological position of George Weigel does not give rise to doubts, considering that his name appears, along with that of Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz and others, among the signatories of the PNAC, the Project for the New American Century, a research institute in which members of the Republican Party and neoconservatives find themselves significantly unanimous in supporting the arms race and in fueling hotbeds of war and terrorism everywhere, beginning with the war in Iraq (here).

The idea of American world leadership promoted by the PNAC is clearly at the basis of NATO’s eastward expansion and Ukraine's deliberate provocation of Russia, which sees itself practically under siege right up to its borders, in violation of the 1991 agreements. I do not want to imagine what would have happened if, reversing the story, a South American nation had allied itself with Moscow and installed military bases near the borders of the United States.

And it is not clear why NATO and the US can be considered authorized to invade foreign nations – as in the case of Kosovo – imposing by military might their concept of democracy and respect for human rights, while the Russian Federation cannot intervene in Ukraine to defend the citizens of Donbass after eight years of ethnic cleansing by neo-Nazi militias against the Russian-speaking minority, in violation of the stipulated agreements and in the presence of a report on these crimes by humanitarian associations.

I imagine that for those who lend themselves to these propaganda operations – which I do not know to what extent are devoid of personal interests – it is embarrassing to find themselves exposed by a retired Archbishop and Nuncio, because their enslavement to the narrative is extremely eloquent. It confirms, if ever there was a need, the shadows that in the past have surrounded their positions on other more strictly Catholic issues.

The action of these exponents of Catholic conservatism, who professed to be my friends until two years ago, writes the definitive and embarrassing obituary of what remained of their authority as Catholic thinkers and their independence as journalists – after their funeral has already taken place.

BREAKING: Text of Pope Francis’ consecration of ‘humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine’ released
The text of the 'Act of Consecration' has reportedly been released, naming Russia twice and using the phrase 'we entrust and consecrate.'

Tue Mar 22, 2022
VATICAN CIY (LifeSiteNews) – The wording of Pope Francis’ consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary has been released, with the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis releasing a pdf of the text on its website, along with Father John Stone, and has since been reported also by Catholic News Agency, although CNA did not provide any additional corroboration of the veracity of the text.

The consecration text does not mention Our Lady of Fatima at all, and mentions Russia only twice, when referencing Russia as an apparent addendum to the prayer.

The key section of the prayer reads: “Therefore, Mother of God and our Mother, to your Immaculate Heart we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine.”

Full text of the prayer to Our Lady:

Oh Mary, Mother of God and our mother, in this time of trial returned to you. As a mother you love us and know us: no concern of our hearts is hidden from you. Mother of mercy, how often we have experienced your watchful care and your peaceful presence! You never cease to guide us to Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

Yet we have strayed from that path of peace. We have forgotten the lesson learned from the tragedies of the last century the sacrifice of the millions who fell into world wars. We have disregarded the commitments we made as a community of nations. We have betrayed peoples’ dreams of peace and the hopes of the young. We grew sick with greed, we thought only of our own nations and their interests, we grew indifferent and caught up in our selfish needs and concerns.

We chose to ignore God, to be satisfied with our illusions, to grow arrogant and aggressive, to suppress innocent lives and to stockpile weapons. We stopped being our neighbor’s keepers and stewards of our common home. We have ravaged the garden of the earth with war and by our sins we have broken the heart of our heavenly Father, who desires us to be brothers and sisters. We grew indifferent to everyone and everything except ourselves.

Now with shame we cry out: Forgive us, Lord! Holy Mother, amid the misery of our sinfulness, amid our struggles and weaknesses, amid the mystery of iniquity that is evil and war, you remind us that God never abandons us, but continues to look upon us with love, ever ready to forgive us and raise us up to new life. He has given you to us and made your Immaculate Heart a refuge for the Church and for all humanity. By God’s gracious will, you are ever with us; even in the most troubled moments of our history, you are there to guide us with tender love.

We now turn to you and knock at the door of your heart. We are your beloved children. In every age you make yourself known to us, calling us to conversion. At this dark hour, help us and grant us your comfort. Say to us once more: “Am I not here, I who am your Mother?” You are able to untie the knots of our hearts and of our times. In you we place our trust.

We are confident that, especially in moments of trial, you will not be deaf to our supplication and will come to our aid. That is what you did at Cana in Galilee, when you interceded with Jesus and he worked the first of his signs. To preserve the joy of the wedding feast, you said to him: “They have no wine.” Now, O Mother, repeat those words and that prayer, for in our own day we have run out of the wine of hope, joy has fled, fraternity has faded. We have forgotten our humanity and squandered the gift of peace. We opened our hearts to violence and destructiveness.

How greatly we need your maternal help! Therefore, O Mother, hear our prayer. Star of the Sea, do not let us be shipwrecked in the tempest of war. Ark of the New Covenant, inspire projects and paths of reconciliation. Queen of Heaven, restore God’s peace to the world. Eliminate hatred and the thirst for revenge, and teach us forgiveness. Free us from war, protect our world from the menace of nuclear weapons. Queen of the Rosary, make us realize our need to pray and to love. Queen of the Human Family, show people the path of fraternity. Queen of Peace, obtain peace for our world.

O Mother, may your sorrowful plea stir our hardened hearts. May the tears you shed for us make this valley parched by our hatred blossom anew. Amid the thunder of weapons, may your prayer turn our thoughts to peace. May your maternal touch soothe those who suffer and flee from the rain of bombs. May your motherly embrace comfort those forced to leave their homes and their native land. May your Sorrowful Heart move us to compassion and inspire us to open our doors and to care for our brothers and sisters who are injured and cast aside.

Holy Mother of God, as you stood beneath the cross, Jesus, seeing the disciple at your side, said: “Behold your son.” In this way he entrusted each of us to you. To the disciple, and to each of us, he said: “Behold, your Mother.” Mother Mary, we now desire to welcome you into our lives and our history. At this hour, a weary and distraught humanity stands with you beneath the cross, needing to entrust itself to you and, through you, to consecrate itself to Christ.

The people of Ukraine and Russia, who venerate you with great love, now turn to you, even as your heart beats with compassion for them and for all those peoples decimated by war, hunger, injustice and poverty.

Therefore, Mother of God and our Mother, to your Immaculate Heart we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine. Accept this act that we carry out with confidence and love. Grant that war may end and peace spread throughout the world. The “Fiat” that arose from your heart opened the doors of history to the Prince of Peace. We trust that, through your heart, peace will dawn once more. To you we consecrate the future of the whole human family, the needs and expectations of every people, the anxieties and hopes of the world.

Through your intercession, may God’s mercy be poured out on the earth and the gentle rhythm of peace return to mark our days. Our Lady of the “Fiat,” on whom the Holy Spirit descended, restore among us the harmony that comes from God.

May you, our “living fountain of hope,” water the dryness of our hearts. In your womb Jesus took flesh; help us to foster the growth of communion. You once trod the streets of our world; lead us now on the paths of peace. Amen.
